Iboga retreat inEurope

If Asia isn’t convenient — or if something closer to home is pulling you — I can meet you in Europe. Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland. The continent is small enough and well-connected enough that we can find the right environment without the long-haul flight.
Why Europe works differently.
With the Asian locations, the environment is largely set. Koh Samui is ocean. Chiang Mai is mountains. You pick the one that fits. Europe inverts that. We start with what you need and find the place to match.
Need the ocean? The Portuguese coast or southern Spain. The Atlantic is different from the Gulf of Thailand — bigger, wilder, less contained. Good for people who need to feel small in a good way. The kind of vast that puts your problems in proportion.
Need mountains? The Swiss Alps or northern Italian foothills. Altitude, clean air, that sense of being above your life for a moment. Looking down at the map of your decisions from somewhere you can actually see the whole thing.
Need forest and quiet? Rural Portugal, inland Spain, the Italian countryside. Warm, grounded, enclosed. The kind of privacy where you forget the rest of the world exists for a few days.
Need something cozy and contained? Winter in the Alps. A warm room with snow outside. Some people’s nervous systems need that — the feeling of being held, enclosed, safe. The cold outside makes the inside feel more protective.
The landscape affects how your body enters the ceremony. Different environments make different parts of you feel safe. We figure out which one together.
Practical reality.
Europe is accessible. Short flights within the continent. No visa complications for most nationalities. Familiar infrastructure. If adding Asia to an already significant experience feels like too much, Europe removes that barrier.
I scout locations based on what we discuss in our first conversation. The logistics — accommodation, food, privacy — are handled. You don’t need to organize anything beyond getting yourself there.
Who comes here.
European clients who want to stay close to home. Americans who feel pulled to Europe for their own reasons. People who need a specific landscape that doesn’t exist at the Asian locations. People for whom the simplicity of short travel means they can focus entirely on the work instead of recovering from jet lag.
Also: people who want input on the environment. In Asia, I know the spots. In Europe, we choose together. If you’re someone who needs to feel ownership over the setting — who the place needs to feel like yours — Europe gives us room to find that.
Common questions about Europe.
Chris currently works in Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Switzerland. There is no fixed European location — the specific setting is chosen based on what environment best serves your process. Coastal, mountain, and rural options are all available.
The legal status of iboga varies across Europe. Some countries have clearer frameworks than others. Chris discusses the legal landscape of specific locations during your initial conversation and ensures the container is safe and private.
The main difference is flexibility. In Asia, each location has a defined environment — ocean in Koh Samui, mountains in Chiang Mai. In Europe, Chris works with you to match the landscape to what you need. The continent’s size makes coast, mountains, forest, and countryside all accessible within a short distance.
Plan for roughly a week. You arrive a few days before the ceremony for preparation — diet, rest, adjusting your pace. The ceremony takes a full day and night, followed by rest and initial integration. Chris handles the logistics of the location, food, and accommodation.
Start the conversation
The first step is a conversation with Chris about whether this makes sense for you. If it does, we figure out next steps together. If it doesn't, he'll tell you.
